Acqua Recovery treats addiction and co-occurring mental health conditions with evidence-based and holistic therapies, tailored treatment plans, and nutritional care. Their medical model of addiction aims to identify each client’s addiction and deeply understand contributing pathophysiological issues. Acqua Recovery provides multiple levels of personalized care, including residential treatment, day treatment (or partial hospitalization), intensive outpatient, aftercare, and separate sober living homes for men and women.

A Comprehensive Range of Therapies for Addiction Recovery

Acqua Recovery addresses co-occurring mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, trauma, and more. A specific dual-diagnosis assessment determines if clients have a co-occurring disorder and how it connects to their addiction. Evaluations and assessments also help staff craft a unique treatment plan suited to their needs. Clients are supported by experienced staff members including clinical mental health counselors, clinical social workers, substance use counselors, and recovery coaches. Acqua Recovery uses various evidence-based and holistic therapies to treat addiction and underlying mental health conditions. These include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), equine therapy, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), internal family systems therapy (IFS), and more. Holistic options include yoga, music and art therapy, and meditation.

Multiple Levels of Care for Addiction and Co-Occurring Mental Health

Acqua Recovery offers residential and outpatient treatment, as well as sober living homes. In day treatment, clients come to treatment 5 days weekly, from 8:15am–5pm. Clients receive continued individual and group therapy, with one 1:1 session weekly. In intensive outpatient, clients attend 10 hours of weekly treatment from 1–4pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Continued psychoeducation, process groups, and peer support help clients hone their recovery skills. With live-in House Managers, their sober living homes offer a safe and structured environment to thrive and attend recovery groups.

Acqua recovery was such an amazing experience. They provided such hands on therapy and so many avenues of treatment that fit my needs. The location is unparalleled with its beauty and solitude with acres of nature right out the front door to explore. The only thing better than the scenery is the amazing and caring staff. Always taking the time to help and listen. The Dharma class is my favorite. Thank you Acqua for saving my life!!

Acqua Recovery was absolutely amazing! They were able to help me look at the whole picture and help me understand why I was self medicating in the first place. With the caring and compassionate staff I was able to address my trauma, depression and anxiety which provided me the relief from feeling like I needed to continue to use. I am forever grateful for Acqua and all the staff that treated me as a person, with love. I would recommend fully!

I was drawn to Acqua for their outdoor environment and was not disappointed. The streams, ponds and waterfalls made for an incredibly regenerating offline experience. I have been through veteran rehab through the VA several times and was surprised at how much deeper we went therapeutically at Acqua. The holistic level of work I did with my therapist, combined with the community, made me decide to do the step-down levels of care, which I had never done. Now here I am, nearly a year into it, feeling healthier and happier than I ever thought possible and wishing I had found Acqua years earlier. Thanks Acqua!

Acqua helped me save my own life. I came to Acqua a broken human dependent on drugs and alcohol suffering from mental illness. While at Acqua (the entirety of the program) I found myself again. I smile again. I laugh. I look forward to tomorrow. The staff at Acqua is exemplary and truly care - from the Therapists to the Coaches to the people behind the scenes. I now have the honor to work there and have never been so grateful. Grateful to be sober, happy, sad - whatever it is. I get to feel it now. Thanks to Acqua.

Review from Rehabs.com

Sadly, I had to come to Aqua twice, as I suffered a major relapse after a year and a half. However, Aqua is an amazing place. If you are willing to put in the work, they are willing to challenge you. If you need a softer approach, they can do that as well. I took my addiction head on the second time and was challenged to stay longer, I wish I had. Their outreach is terrific and during my relapse, they were ready to welcome me with open arms and zero judgement. Though you attend AA and NA meetings, you choose you recovery path, for me it was Refuge Recovery. The food is amazing and often you are a part of preparing it! Eat breakfast looking over the waterfall as the deer munch away and the ducks dabble in the pond below. They keep you busy from morning until night; and for me at least, that is a good thing. Idle hands....... I rocked my recovery as hard as I could. I saw others not do so well, if you go to Acqua and lament the way the staff don't allow you to "do what you want," or "treat you like a child." Well my friend, just remember how well your choices have gone so far; there is a reason many of the employees here are in Recovery themselves. They've made decisions that have led to continued sobriety; perhaps listen to what they have to say. Leave the ego at home and you will blossom here; drag it along and you only hurt yourself. The facilities are amazing, the was a Mill in the Mid to Late 1800's and you can feel the history. The beds are amazing, gas fireplaces in your room, waterfall showers, jetted tubs and some amazing views! The grounds are stellar, with paths meandering here in there allowing for privacy when needed. There are geese, swans, ducks and songbirds galore. Groups are held often and can be challenging but also life-altering. Again, leave your ego at home and you'll be amazed what your fellow "Aquanauts" will teach you. I appreciate the fact that Aqua doesn't handle these groups with kid gloves. I've been in 2 IOP's and the groups are sterile and stifled.........not at Acqua. Here they encourage you to let your true emotions come to the surface. It can be hard to hear some things about yourself; there are often tears, but I found these peer comments to be more powerful than I could have imagined. Come ready to learn. There is high turnover, but I've come to learn this is common in Rehab facilities. If Aqua is reading this, my only slightly negative comment is to spend some more funds on Recreational Activities. I know we are in rehab, not on vacation, but I was amazed at how the group was always brought closer together during Rec. If you are looking at Residential Rehab my friend, don't hesitate, strike while the iron is hot. Save your life, act now. I can solidly recommend Acqua. ND
