Treatment Methods

Rather than implementing benzodiazepines and medication-assisted treatment, Count Down offers acupuncture and other naturopathic methods to aid clients in the withdrawal and detox process. Medical staff monitors clients and helps ensure they remain safe during the withdrawal process. In addition to detox, clients participate in individual and group therapy, with dialectical behavioral therapy for addiction (DBT-S) and trauma-specific therapy as primary modalities. Count Down treats clients struggling with the following substances: cannabis, synthetic cannabinoids, amphetamines and other stimulants, cocaine, opioids, hallucinogens, and ketamine. A small capacity of 14 clients helps ensure that staff is able to give each client attention and quality treatment. Clients typically remain in treatment for 2 weeks.

Aftercare Options

Following detox, clients may be eligible for admittance into Drug Therapy Center Berlin’s transitional housing, outpatient program, residential program, or assisted living facilities.
