Discovery Mood & Anxiety Stamford is an adolescent treatment facility in Stamford, Connecticut. Surrounded by nature and with 24-hour care, they provide a safe and serene space for adolescents ages 11 to 17 to receive treatment for mood and anxiety disorders, trauma, self-harm, and co-occurring disorders. Discovery’s highly trained staff provide evidence-based therapies like cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) in both individual and group therapy settings. Alongside therapy, clients continue their education through the help of onsite educational liaisons. The staff provides 3 hours of schooling a day with a focus on preparing students to reintegrate into the academic setting.

Family Programming

Discovery believes that family support plays a powerful role in the recovery process. For this reason, they have created a family program that allows for active participation. The family programming includes 90-minute family counseling sessions, activities and outings, and multi-family groups with an invitation for family members to stay for dinner afterwards. Discovery schedules these activities on a weekly basis, providing families with ample opportunities to be involved.
