About Discovery Ranch
This unique residential treatment center provides adolescent boys with a blend of traditional and innovative therapies and relationship driven treatment for their mental health concerns. In addition, Discovery Ranch serves as a nationally accredited academic program. The master’s and doctoral level clinicians treat a variety of behavioral and emotional disorders including anxiety, depression, trauma, social struggles, mood disorders, oppositional defiant disorder, learning disabilities, attention deficit disorder (ADD/ADHD) and more. They use their signature CARE model which addresses clinical, academic, relational and experiential needs. The experiential aspects of treatment at Discovery Ranch include equine therapy, calf adoption, recreation therapy, music and performance therapy, sand tray therapy and a peer leadership program. Families are encouraged to rebuild their relationships by attending weekly family therapy, family visits and Parent Day activities. To teach responsibility and accountability, the boys are required to participate in daily chores and day-to-day workings of ranch life. They also take part in physical fitness activities, eat nutritious meals, receive psychiatric evaluations and medication management and participate in community service.
