I found the three levels of care provided ( Detox, Intensive Outpatient Program and Sober Living Residency) satisfying and quite beneficial. I would recommend this program to Veterans and Veteran providers.

Review from Rehabs.com

I came to First step my accident. I did not believe that I had a problem; all I needed was a way to cope with everyday life because drinking wasn’t working after 10+ years. I came thinking that I was better than everyone because “I didn’t do drugs”, “I wasn’t homeless”, “I hadn’t lost everything”, anything that made me better than people who “needed” treatment. In my head, I didn’t need treatment 2 fifths and a pint of alcohol a day was child’s play. But the staff and clients at First Step broke me down, open and apart. I didn’t know what hit me but I not only needed it but I wound up loving it. This was my first treatment and I satayed for 5 months because it had to be my last. I committed to myself, my family, and first step, to stay for 30 day. Boy, that was a joke! But 6 months later I am clean! I am clear headed and gained some new family and awesome friends. It’s worth every hard minute. It won’t be easy but it will worth it! I am living proof!

This place worked great for my son 4 years ago. Unfortunately he returned again. They do not honor a medical power of attorney, they let the patient decide who is on the chart. Power of attorney for substance abuse is not honored.
