Review from Rehabs.com

I have been to Cedar Hills hospital several times and have had received nothing but respect, care and they were attentive to ALL my needs and offered even more. I cannot say enough good things about this treatment center as I've needed different levels of care from detox to full on 30 day treatment (even when it's been just to stay away from my environment for sometime before I was released. I've also had recommendations from them to a longer treatment type setting and have taken advantage of their 90 day outpatient treatment, dual diagnosis behavioral treatment, addiction has lead me to places I thought I'd never go but have, ie: suicide attempts. They've been the full deal for me and as time goes on I have relapsed less frequently and they have made me want to live again and to be responsible and own my part of my own life. They've helped with becoming a friend's among friends, a worker among workers and a family member among family members. I have received massive information and resources from this hospital while inpatient and upon release and appreciate ALL they do. I'm not easy to deal with upon arriving but by the time we're taking about release and am clear headed to be able to make those follow-up commitments that are necessary for any success I may experience. I'm so very grateful that three never turned me away, made me feel guilty for returning when needed or treated as I was less than them. It has never failed that I end up taking away with me WAY more with me Everytime than I came in with. I have not regretted one time, asking them for help and they have not refused me either. They are very professional and kind and truly care about their patients!! Dont know what you're looking for, but giving the gift of life and another chance to actually LIVE and participate in your own life, is a gift that only so many of us have get the opportunity to receive. Do you want to be right or a chance to be happy? 😊 God bless all the staff and volunteers at this organization. Grateful, is what I am!! Thank you ALL for what you do and for being there!!❤️

Review from Rehabs.com

This is the worst mental health facility I have been in, I only stayed four days during which time I saw a psychiatrist for a total of less than 15 minutes during my entire stay there. The food was awful not healthy, and was extremely limited in variety. Two of the group facilitators agreed that this facility is severely lacking and is not conducive as a positive mental health treatment center. Numerous other employees that work there also expressed that this isn’t a very good place. The unit I was on consisted of a windowless hallway that was about 50 feet in length with approximately five rooms on the left and five rooms on the right with One extremely small enclosed space with a television in it That was called the Rec. room They only offered Coffee tea and water to drink throughout the day aside from when you went to the cafeteria three times a day at the cafeteria they offered milk and coffee. And again the food offered in the cafeteria was on par with something you may get at a homeless shelter. It seems to me that at $2000 a day The availability, Quality and quantity of food/beverages that are offered should be much better. I also was unable to use the restroom four days prior to being admitted and after repeatedly requesting MiraLAX and being told I would get it put on my med list the doctor apparently let it slip his mind until the day I discharged which meant I was unable to have a BM for over a week. My medication was not changed or added to until the day I left either. The majority of the staff did not seem to want to be there. Also one staff would say one thing and another would contradict what was allowed or not allowed depending on who you talk to in other words the communication between staff and clients and each other was inconsistent. The day I left the amount of time spent discussing my discharge was left at approximately 15 minutes with no real discharge plan, also before going in I was told That upon discharge if needed there was residential for people who needed longer-term care yet there was no referral or discussion of where to go for this treatment option. I have been struggling with mental health issues for seven years and this place was by far the least helpful and most unpleasant, depressing place to come to especially for someone already dealing with major anxiety and depression. 95% of the other residents there also felt this Facilityis severely lacking. Also upon discharge they wanted me to sign paperwork stating that I received the meds that I brought in with me back before allowing me to go through said medications, I refused to sign prior to my medication being returned to me and once I did get my medication back six days worth of my medication was missing and they had to go back and retrieve it from the unit as they were using my medication from home. Also when you go in you are told to bring in any current medications you are on and even those we’re not put on the list that should have been available to me and other residents had this problem as well. Considering the extremely small unit I was on the janitorial services/upkeep was lacking as well. These are just a few things that made my stay there not a pleasant one especially considering the cost that insurance covers and the out-of-pocket which was $500 per day that was not covered by insurance should have provided better for. I would absolutely not recommend this facility to anyone seeking to improve their mental health.

do not reccomend. Took 5 days to have a one on one talk with a psychiatrist that lasted more than 5 min. There was a patient that physically abused me and threw chairs at staff members only to be rewarded with icecream. The patients helped more than the staff. This place is negative 2 stars honestly. You will not get the mental health help you need from here so don't even bother trying.

This place is the worst I've ever come across! Communication with family members is ridiculous! My mom was sent there one the 2nd of January and is already being discharged. She's in a full blow psychosis still. They won't help her get outpatient help, transfer medical or access to her funds (like a case worker). So this place is dropping her off, in FRONT of a hotel in Vancouver. Thats the discharge plan. They called me, told me this then hung up on me. I am 4 1/2 hours away. This is unacceptable!

It is what YOU make of it and your treatment. The staff was wonderful from the head doctor to the nurses to the kitchen staff they are great people doing a impossible hard job with patients at the worse they are in their lives. They can not make everyone happy and yet they tried to even when no one could make any one happy they tried and never gave up. Day in and day out of dealing with people like me, mad at the world and everyone in it yet they tried to and never stopped caring. I owe them my life and if I fail it is not for lack of caring they tried and If I fail I failed not the staff. I can not understate how much I owe all of them. From the doctor to the cleaning lady who always smiled at me. They are great. God Bless them all
