Rated in 2025 by Newsweek as one of the top Addiction Treatment Centers in Florida, Lakeview Health uses gender-responsive, science-backed treatment to help patients begin their road to recovery. Their gender-separate medical detox and residential facilities provide safe spaces for comprehensive healing of mind, body, and spirit. They also pair targeted treatments for mental health with evidence-based methods for helping people overcome substance use disorders.

Benefit from Gender-Responsive Programming

Lakeview Health separates men and women into programs that help them work through the unique challenges each gender faces in recovery. Beyond the fundamentals of abstinence and 12-Step meetings, they address 8 additional aspects of recovery:

  1. Healthy values
  2. Medical needs
  3. Experiential therapy
  4. Expressive therapy
  5. Trauma-informed care
  6. Sexual health
  7. Systemic health
  8. Neurological health

Patients spend most of their time in gender-specific activities, and are also incorporated into the larger community to prepare for life after treatment.

Boost Healing in Gender-Focused Settings

Lakeview Health’s gender-responsive campus provides patients with tailored spaces to heal. At their men’s facility, a pub-style dining room, leather-chaired library, and experiential art room encourage new ways to connect and express emotion. Their women’s facility offers a home-like setting with a meditation room, spa, and communal dining table to foster safety, friendships, and self-worth. Both facilities share a 10,000-square-foot health and wellness center with a track, physical therapy, and fitness regimens patients can continue after treatment.

Plan Ahead for Future Challenges

From the moment patients enter Lakeview Health, their aftercare program team begins planning their successful re-entry into the world. Aftercare coordinators meet with patients to help set up sober living, outpatient programs, and certified recovery coaching. They also provide an alumni network for continued peer support, an alumni app and private Facebook group, and events.

Include Family in the Healing Process

Lakeview was my first treatment center and little did I know it would be far from my last. However, I was spoiled by Lakeview. I loved it and I can only imagine how much better it is nine years later. Like you gave me a foundation for Recovery in a luxury setting. When I was there, it was still coed, now they have a male and female facility separated to allow individuals to focus more I guess.

Review from Rehabs.com

Lakeview is a wonderful, beautiful facility. The Nurses, BHA’s, Dining employees, Wellness center are all top of the top. I need to and considered coming back after 30 days. BUT your therapy staff does not offer a good program. They shuffle you from one therapist to another so every time your hour therapy is trying to start from the beginning. You never get to develop a relationship or trust so you can get real therapy. Very surface level. I was shuffled between 4 therapist in 30 days. If the owner had any sense and care about his place he would get rid of Skylar. She is abrasive, uncaring and rude at times. I had three people AMA while I was there because of her. Out of 15 or more of us that are close not one of them would have her as a therapist nor would they come back. Sincerely hope the owner will address this and do what is best for his facility and his patients.

Review from Rehabs.com

First off, it’s a business just like any healthcare facility/hospital, so yes they have an executive team that focuses on getting paid and dealing directly with our insurance companies so we don't have to. Because of that team, we can solely focus on our recovery. That being said, the staff that engages with clients is phenomenal. They are all there because they want to help people get better and if a client shows desire and willingness, they will go above and beyond to help that client. At first, I went back and forth between knowing I needed to be there and just wanting to quit. No matter where I was on that roller coaster, they never turned their back on me. They were patient through my anxiety and caring when my anger gave into fear and desperation. No doubt, they saved my life. I highly recommend Lakeview Health. It was, for me, a once in a lifetime opportunity to work on myself with some of the best doctors in the field. Open mind, open heart and a new beginning is what I was given for my time spent here. I am forever grateful.

Review from Rehabs.com

I stayed at Lakeview twice for alcohol dependency. The first time was a great experience even though I did not get as much information about relapse prevention that I wanted. The second time was a whole different experience. the patients were absolutely wonderful and gracious. The nursing staff , the BHA’s were absolutely fantastic. When it came to the time that I had to leave that’s when it all fell apart. My luggage was held hostage by my therapist, Lindsay. She was of no help to me whatsoever. I had a very extreme personal situation going on at home and I needed to leave for that reason. I was told over and over again that I was not there as a prisoner I was there on my own free will and I could come and go as I please. Unfortunately that was not the case. They held my luggage hostage and would not help me leave when my flight was already booked and the driver was coming to pick me up. Not everyone should be treated with a broad stroke. We are all addicts but we are different in many ways. Our life situations and our family situations are all different. And as such we should be treated as individuals with individual circumstances in our lives. I was made to sit in the front lobby area with a guard watching me. I am a 52-year-old woman with two grown children. I have never committed a crime I have never been to jail. But I was treated like a common criminal! my so-called therapist Lindsey, did absolutely nothing to help me! She just kept saying that there was nothing that she could do she would not make a phone call she would not even try to help me get home to my family that needed me! I believe that Linsey Miznic should be demoted or written up in some capacity. I do not believe that she should be a head counselor. Number one she is too young and she does not have the life experience that is needed to handle addicts that have been in addiction for over 30 years. Number two she is extremely condescending when speaking to someone who is upset. She does not know how to handle stressful situations. Lakeview let me down. I went back because I believed it was a safe place to go when I was dealing with some difficult situations with my son. It turned out to be nothing but a complete nightmare! I firmly believe that there should be a shift and who is a full-time therapist. And I do believe with all my heart that Linsey should not be a full time therapist.

Review from Rehabs.com

I really enjoy these online meetings. It's nice that when you leave rehab you are still connected! I really look forward to the meetings with Ryan. He really listens, gives good feedback and is funny! I'm very comfortable in his group! It may be 'small' but I feel that everyone opens up more because it is small, and you really get to know each other.

We love hearing about your treatment experience
