Located in the beautiful Hampton Bay in New York, this 56-bed facility specializes in treating substance addiction along with co-occurring mental health conditions and process addictions. Long Island Center for Recovery (LICR) was founded in 1995 by Jack Hamilton, one of the first individuals to bring Narcotics Anonymous meetings to the local New York communities. In carrying out Mr. Hamilton’s vision of providing compassionate, professional, and affordable care, the LIRC facility offers a complete range of addiction treatment services including detox and specialized inpatient rehab programs. Specialty program services include a first responders and military group, a gambler anonymous group, a LGBTQ pride group, a union’s labor group, and a women's group. Clients receive individualized treatment plans that utilize 1-on-1 therapy and group therapy. They combine traditional methods with holistic types of care like yoga, meditation, sound therapy, Reiki, and equine therapy. The structured program includes unique therapies like Rapid Resolution Therapy (RRT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), 12-Step facilitation, trauma-specific therapy, and recreational therapy.

The one-story house offers spacious living quarts without the hospital feel. The bedrooms are all double occupancy with shared bathrooms throughout, along with lounge areas furnished with large couches and flat screen televisions mounted on the wall. Outside, the grounds provide a quiet oasis for the clients with beautiful gardens areas and a fish pond. Clients will also enjoy delicious meals prepared by in-house chefs. Long Island Center for Recovery provides a good balance of therapies along with a variety of speciality groups, making this facility a one-of-a-kind.

Facility is absolutely horrible. Biggest issue there is the lack of compassion for the clients. Especially some of the nursing staff. One woman is a miserable human being... One of the male staff members keeps people waiting also.... If you don't have the compassion to help others in time of need....then get out of the field. People are trying to better there lived, treat them with respect.

Clean accommodations, friendly staff. It's close proximity for Long Islanders, on the inexpensive side. Clean and refurbished building and great staff. I got sober on my first try and they are a huge part of that.
