Alcohol
It's main function seems to be gaining sober time. I do believe that this is needed in the area, but it needs to be more. I saw a counselor once, for a treatment plan, but really needed therapy. There is one case manger for 50ish clients. I called one of the two places that he found for me to go to after treatment and they had no record of the application. I only met him because I sought him out after two weeks. Many of the 9 am groups were led by a client that had volunteered. I enjoyed gender group, but didn't really learn much in the groups overall. It was a chaotic, overcrowded and loud environment. The kitchen staff did their best with an obviously limited budget. The meals were not nutritious, but the staff did care. The director seemed to think that we were receiving a favor, though insurance was paying for adequate care. I hope that this place moves on to a better location and is able to offer more to the people of the area. There are staff that do care and they deserve more too.
