About Malibu Wellness Ranch
Malibu Wellness Ranch is located on 800 acres in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. They treat drug and alcohol addiction using an experiential approach to treatment. They offer an onsite detox program, followed by a residential program. Clients will receive individual, group, and family therapies from onsite clinical staff. Life skills are taught to clients to help them reintegrate back into life outside of treatment. Psychotherapy groups focus on emotional regulation, self esteem, and relapse prevention planning Clients will also participate in psychoeducation groups that use a mind, body, and spirit approach to wellness. Clients will participate in 12-Step programming every evening.
Equine Therapy
Equine therapy is a large part of Malibu Wellness Ranch’s experiential treatment program. Clients will participate in activities 3 times per week. The Ranch has over 40 horses onsite and each client will be assigned a horse for the duration of their stay. Grooming, horse handling, riding, and general horse care are a part of the equine therapy program.
Beneficial Activities
To help clients understand that they can have fun in recovery, Malibu Wellness Ranch offers many onsite activities. Paddle sports, ATV riding, hiking, fishing, horseback riding, mini golf, snowmobiling, and corn hole are just a few of the activities that allow clients to learn healthy communication skills, teamwork, and build trust with one another.
