Care Options

Levels of Care

Everyone's recovery journey is unique. Whether it looks like residential rehab for 30 days, an outpatient program, or virtual therapy, you can find a level of care that fits your needs.
Detox
Typically the initial stage of treatment for substance use, focusing on medically supervised management of withdrawal symptoms.
Residential Rehab
Offering intensive care with 24/7 monitoring, residential substance use treatment is typically 30 days. Length can range from 14 to 90 days.
Sober Living
Transitional housing designed to support individuals recovering from substance use disorders offering a safe, supportive and structured environment for practicing long-term sobriety, while reintegrating back into daily living.
Day Treatment
In a PHP, patients live at home but follow an intensive schedule of treatment. Most programs require you to be on-site for about 40 hours per week.
Intensive Outpatient Program
An intensive outpatient program (IOP) falls between inpatient care and traditional outpatient services, with therapy and skills-building activities designed to support recovery and provide flexibility. IOP is ideal for those needing support but not the 24/7 care of a residential facility.
Outpatient
Outpatient treatment offers flexible therapeutic and medical care without the need to stay overnight in a hospital or inpatient facility. Outpatient care typically offers a range of therapies and medical interventions individuals can attend alongside daily life.
Virtual & In-Home Care
The delivery of therapeutic services utilizing technology such as video conferencing, online messaging or phone calls, allowing for flexibility, comfort and increased access to care.
Co-Occurring Mental Health
Treatment for co-occurring mental health disorders, which affect the majority of individuals diagnosed, integrates care for mental health conditions with primary substance use. Personalized care plans are crafted to effectively address each condition simultaneously, optimizing the healing process.

I first went to Mountainside in 2011 when I wasn't quite ready or willing to get sober. I still experienced sobriety for the first time and the seed was planted that it was possible... I struggled on and off for another decade. Fortunately, I was given another chance of recovery at Mountainside in 2023 and haven't looked back since then... I knew I could succeed at Mountainside. The quality of care, the staff, and the alternative options of staying sober are just a few reasons why Mountainside worked for me. This place is special and holds a very deep, meaningful place in my heart. It's where I took my life back. The staff is amazing... they guided me and helped me realize there was so much more to life on the other side of addiction. The connections I made at Mountainside will last a lifetime. Shoutout to all the detox nurses, Lincoln, BRUCE, Jessica, and Isabel. Forever grateful to Mountainside.

Mountainside was my very first detox/rehab I ever attended and this was back in 2014 and knowing what I know now, how blessed i was at that time for that being my first program, I absolutely should have saved it for the last … my insurance at the time didn’t cover it so I paid out of pocket to attend, as we can all just imagine how much that ran me BUUUT in my mind even still to this day I can still say was all more than worth it…. Granted, I was young and me attending was mainly for court/this was all before I actually had a drug problem/actual dependency so it was the first of many programs I’d be attending between then aaaand 2024, but between the detox wing itself, the staff, the food, the things to do between groups, the groups themselves, etc so again i had no idea how blessed the whole time I was their until attending other programs throughout the state. Just the food itself was worth it IMO lol but long story short, this is by far one of, if NOT THE BEST program in CT, hands down absolutely zero debate so if you’re ’thinking of attending’, no need think no more, take my advice knowing there really isn’t a better option in the state of CT

Review from Rehabs.com

Mountainside’s holistic approach to recovery gave me the tools to rebuild a life from scratch. In my 90 days there, I learned of the healing power of nature, and how instrumental healing not only my mind, but body too, was to my recovery. I appreciate the community which still exists for those of us alumni. Having the ability to be surrounded by people who understand, at any point in recovery is imperative to staying sober. Five stars.

My sister went through Mountainside in 2016 and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. From start to finish the staff made things seamless, from the pre admission process to pre discharge. We were involved every step of the way which helped immensely. They helped ease any anxieties me and my family had. To this day by sister still attends alumni meetings and events and loves staying connected. The family support groups and meetings have also been helpful for me and my family. I highly recommend attending these if you have/had a loved one who struggles with addiction.
