Monte Nido's residential treatment center in Miami (formerly known as Oliver-Pyatt Centers) provides individualized care for women struggling with eating disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions in Miami, Florida. This location was founded in 2008 by Dr. Wendy Oliver-Pyatt, a Fellow of the Academy of Eating Disorders and a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist. Monde Nido has helped thousands of women find freedom using a holistic, non-judgmental approach. They believe preparing clients for the real world outside of the program is one of the many keys to their success. Together, therapists and clients thoughtfully explore each individual’s relationship with food, body, relationships, and themselves. Monde Nido states, “This is accomplished through mindful eating skills, daily staff support, individual and family therapy, meal support / exposure outings and group therapy in which patients process issues that are specific and relevant. This programming helps individuals move toward full recovery from Binge Eating Disorder, with a goal to embrace life in ways that bring joy and connection, help them find movement and activities they enjoy, create ways to nourish themselves and make plans for the next chapters in their lives.”

Monde Nido’s clients are housed in upscale apartments in residential areas in South Miami. Clients usually share a room with one other client in modern, 2-bedroom apartments. Treatment takes place at the nearby center, and transportation is provided. Monde Nido is accredited by the Joint Commission and accepts most private insurance.

Levels of Care

Eating disorders interfere with healthy eating habits, potentially causing weight changes, poor mental health, and physical harm. Treatment addresses underlying thoughts and beliefs, aiming to heal relationships with food. Weight restoration and other medical interventions stabilize physical health.
Residential
Residential eating disorder treatment provides intensive medical and therapeutic care in a safe, structured setting with 24/7 monitoring, meal-time support, therapy, and services for weight restoration as needed.
Intensive Outpatient Program
An intensive outpatient program (IOP) falls between inpatient care and traditional outpatient services, with therapy and skills-building activities designed to support recovery and provide flexibility. IOP is ideal for those needing support but not the 24/7 care of a residential facility.
Outpatient
Outpatient treatment offers flexible therapeutic and medical care without the need to stay overnight in a hospital or inpatient facility. Outpatient care typically offers a range of therapies and medical interventions individuals can attend alongside daily life.
Virtual & In-Home Care
Not Offered at This Center
The delivery of therapeutic services utilizing technology such as video conferencing, online messaging or phone calls, allowing for flexibility, comfort and increased access to care.
Co-Occurring Disorders
Conditions like depression, substance use, and trauma can co-occur with eating disorders. Many programs provide co-occurring eating disorder treatment for comprehensive healing.
