About Turning Point Australia Grey Street
Turning Point Australia’s Grey Street location houses KickStart, an 8 week program for men involved in the justice system for whom substance use is considered a major factor in offending behaviors. Men must have completed an assessment via Australian Community Support Organisation (ACSO), and Community Offender Advice and Treatment Service (COATS) in order to be eligible for the program. Typically drug and alcohol treatment is a condition of parole or community based correction orders for participants in the KickStart program. Turning Point Australia is funded by the Commonwealth Department of Health and provides free care for Australian residents.
Treatment Approach
KickStart implements group cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to facilitate behavioral change among offenders with substance use concerns. Turning Point seeks to foster a holistic approach to behavioral change as they support participants in reducing substance related offending.
Public Transport and Parking
The 380 bus line stops at the hospital, about a three minute walk from Turning Point Grey Street and the Ringwood East train station is about 10 minutes away. Clients with an appointment can park at the facility and must get a pass to display on their windshield upon arrival.
