Palladium Private's holistic, BioPsychoSocial program approach considers biological, psychological, and social factors, and their complex interactions in understanding and treating mental health disorders and addictive behaviours. Established in 2003, their Sunshine Coast hinterland retreat allows guests to immerse themselves in their recovery, away from localised or environmental stressors and triggers.

Tailored And Evidence-Based

Palladium Private combines evidence-based psychological care with holistic therapies. A multi-disciplinary team of Allied Health professionals, psychologists, psychotherapists and other specialised therapists deliver treatment. Residential treatment varies between 2 to 12 weeks, with stay times determined based on the client’s presentation in the admissions phase. The therapy team uses a combination of evidence-based therapies and techniques, including rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), NLP, Gestalt Therapy, Neuropsychotherapy, Schema Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and more.

Structured, Client-Focused Care

Guests at Palladium Private have 24-hour support from crisis care-trained counsellors, nursing staff, hosts and support workers. One-on-one psychotherapy sessions are held weekly, interspersed with group therapy sessions, workshops, and holistic therapies such as yoga, personal training, art therapy, garden therapy, and guided mindfulness sessions. Guests can also enjoy offsite excursions, nature walks, steam and plunge therapy, massage, improvisation, dance and drumming. Palladium Private welcomes certified support animals at no additional cost.

A Continuum of Care

Each guest will spend one-on-one time with a Duty Manager before leaving treatment to tailor a personalised Aftercare Plan that supports their return home over the following 6 months. The key focus of the Aftercare Plan is to engage with local support upon returning home, so all appointments are made and relationships established.

The Aftercare Plan will be unique to each guest’s specific needs and circumstances. It includes ongoing psychotherapy sessions with their Palladium Private therapist, a pack of customised resources, regular check-ins with their support team, coaching, goals setting, employment support, engagement with local community supports and healthcare professionals, and tailored wellness and mental health-related support to help in the transition home and post-treatment goals.

I recently spent 3 weeks at Palladium Private. I entered completely burnt out with a host of trauma in my past. After committing 100% to the program, I left feeling like a different person. Not only have I learned strategies for when I feel triggered but I also came away with a better sense of who I am and am now able to live life so differently! All the staff were amazing, the food was incredible and the program was just unreal. I will forever be grateful for the opportunity to attend and will keep in contact with the great friends I now have.

I’ve been to rehabs before but they were nothing compared to Palladium Private. The staff have lived experience which I could relate to and felt comfortable being vulnerable with them and in turn I have received the help required for my addictions and my mental health disorders. I feel more courageous, worthy, and trusting in myself with the help I’ve received. They work on the BioPsychoSocial model which is a holistic approach and gets to the crux of why I have addictions and equipping me with the coping mechanisms to deal with my mental health disorders. Palladium Private is set on a beautiful property. I highly recommend Palladium Private and wish I had known about it a long time ago. I don’t have a bad thing to say about the staff. From management to program facilitators, they’ve all been an integral part of my recovery journey and I’m so thankful to them.

Former Client

As a Veteran of 21 years Service, I'd spent much of the 9 years since leaving Army using alcohol to mask and numb myself from the trauma experienced throughout my career, as well as the life that my trauma had built for me since. When I finally made the realisation that my life absolutely sucked - and that, just maybe, it didn't have to - I knew that the first step had to be dealing with my alcoholism. Other therapies had been pointless in the state I'd been in. I spent years knowing that I had to change. Knowing and doing are two separate things. I simply hadn't had the capacity to act. I went into the program with 100% willingness and conviction. I knew there would be discomfort (understatement) in dealing with my demons instead of numbing myself to them, but I also knew that years of avoiding them had made everything in life so much worse. By being open and willing to try every aspect of the program, I soon realised that even by taking away one little thing from each session or modality, I was better off than I was without them, beforehand. The holistic nature of the program allowed me to gain new knowledge, meld it to what I already knew, and separate from that the emotional values which we attribute to events, situations and choices in our lives, giving me the clarity and confidence to face my reasons for drinking and understand how to move past them. The on-site Veteran Support Specialist has been of immense value also.

Thank you for sharing your powerful and moving account of your journey at Palladium Private. We deeply appreciate you entrusting us with your care, especially acknowledge the challenges you faced prior to arriving. We are incredibly proud to hear that you found the program to be so effective in addressing the complex issues you describe. It's particularly gratifying to know that the holistic approach, coupled with our specialist veteran support, provided you with the clarity, confidence, and capacity to confront those challenges and embark on a path towards healing. We wish you continued strength and success in your ongoing journey, and offer the reminder to connect with your aftercare support when you feel ready.Warm regards,Palladium Private

I spent 28 days at Palladium for alcohol and mental health issues and found that my stay and treatment have been the very best ‘reset’ for my health. As a female veteran who had never felt I was deserving to be called a vet, Dan helped me immensely with linking me up with other veterans and the local advocate and mates for mates services. I found the therapeutic model used at Palladium suited me perfectly and I feel strong in body and mind, ready to return back to everyday life, armed with knowledge gained from the many amazing staff so that I am able to cope and continue my healthy journey. The food was amazing! Healthy, hearty meals with so much variety. Meal times were a highlight of the day as well as the lovely massages. Thank you to all the beautiful staff at Palladium who helped me in their own unique way to go back to being my best person I can be.

I have gained a lot from my mental health admission at Palladium Private. The team is great and I gained a lot from the peer support I received from the other guests. I arrived at a time of big change at the facility, so I experienced some inconsistencies in the rules and curriculum, but I believe this will settle quickly when the new becomes the norm. I will definitely recommend the facility to family and friends needing additional supports. I loved the twice-weekly massages!
