About Queens Village Committee for Mental Health JCAP
This not-for-profit facility in Queens provides residential treatment for chemically dependent adults and young adults ages 17 and older, including veterans and those referred through parole or probation. Outpatient services include medical care for all ages, mental health support for adults and children, and addiction treatment for adults. Located on Sutphin Boulevard in Jamaica, they deliver bilingual services in a structured, community-based setting.
Residential Program
The residential addiction treatment program follows a therapeutic community model, accommodating over 190 clients. This highly structured, group-based approach involves residents actively participating in their own and each other’s treatment, as well as in daily operations such as housekeeping and meal preparation. The program is divided into three phases—Orientation, Main Treatment, and Re-Entry—designed to support gradual progress toward independence. Clients attend daily counseling sessions, individual and group therapy, and recovery-focused activities while remaining drug-free and committed to healthy living. Supervised routines help build life skills, encourage responsibility, and prepare clients for reintegration.
Outpatient Health Services
A connected health center on-site offers outpatient primary care and mental health services for adults and children, as well as addiction treatment for adults. Services include wellness visits, immunizations, chronic condition management, HIV and HepC care, and outpatient counseling. This integrated setup allows patients and their families to access medical and behavioral health services in one location, reducing barriers to follow-up care and ongoing treatment.
