Recovery First Treatment Center serves the Miami–Fort Lauderdale area with small, personal groups where clients feel seen, heard, and supported. Clients can begin with medical detoxification and continue through inpatient residential care, partial hospitalization (PHP), or an intensive outpatient program (IOP), offered in day, evening, or virtual sessions. Care supports co-occurring mental health conditions, with specialty programs for veterans and first responders, healthcare professionals, and methadone detoxification.

Practice Recovery for Daily Life

Recovery First focuses on building day-to-day recovery skills patients can use outside treatment, like managing cravings, regulating emotions, and strengthening decision-making for relapse prevention. Structured group and individual sessions use methods like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) to improve coping and accountability. Patients can also address family dynamics through family therapy and reinforce progress with wellness practices like mindfulness and yoga.

Build Stability Through Community Living

Recovery First offers apartment-style living that supports real-life routines alongside treatment. Patients share comfortable common spaces and practice stability through daily structure, including meals and community responsibilities. The campus includes areas for recreation and connection, a fitness center for movement and stress relief, and dedicated meditation spaces for grounding between sessions. These amenities help patients reset habits, rest, and stay engaged in care.

Stay Engaged in Ongoing Recovery

After inpatient residential care, patients can step down to PHP or IOP, with discharge planning that connects them to therapy, recovery meetings, and community support. Alumni can stay engaged through the Community of Alumni Recovering Everywhere (CARE) program with weekly support meetings, special events, and ongoing resources. The Connections app adds continued accountability through secure, private messaging with support staff, peer connection, and recovery tools that reinforce relapse prevention.

Review from Rehabs.com

I attended treatment at Recovery First during the summer of 2019. This was my first time in treatment to battle both addiction and my mental health. I spent three weeks at Residential. I really loved my counselor, Vanessa. She really helped me to start getting into a better state of mind. The BHT at residential were all so supportive, along with the group facilitators. I was in PHP for two weeks. I also really loved my counselor, Caroline. She even helped me progress further into my recovery. I even attended IOP. I enjoyed the groups and the facilitators and all the BHTs. When I left Recovery First and graduated out of the program, I definitely did not have any urges to use. The alumni program is great. Melina is awesome! It's been a long road for my mental health, but without that foundation I received at Recovery First, I wouldn't be where I am today. Today, I work as a Substance Use Counselor at a methadone clinic and I get to share my experience with treatment with my patients.

This is the second time I’ve been to treatment and I can honestly say that recovery first literally saved my life the staff is amazing and accommodated the living arrangements to meet the specific needs of a struggling drug addict the therapist went above and beyond providing an in-depth understanding of the clinical psychology behind the impulses which we suffer from the community is very family oriented and accepting of everyone that walks through the door I can’t speak for everyone but I never had a bad day here the group sessions are the best thing that ever could have happened to me i was provided with every tool necessary to become the best version of my self and the person my family deserves and knows that I can be I give 5 stars hands down and recommend that anyone struggling with addiction and really wants to make a change for the best to come here and participate with an open mind to truly see how great recovery could be. Thank you so much for the hospitality I hate to say I won’t be back anytime soon but I will definitely be here in spirit I owe you guys my life recovery first is awesome
