Since 1994, Camino a Casa has provided services to children and young people in the foster care and educational systems. They have since expanded their services to offer a specialized recovery program designed to treat adolescents ages 9-17 struggling with behavioral concerns, self-harm, depression, and trauma. Residential treatment, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and in-home behavioral health services are all offered at Camino a Casa.

Academic Support and Structured Care

Their structured curriculum includes intense mental health treatment services delivered by master's- and/or doctoral-level clinicians and psychiatrists, along with structured 24-hour monitoring with an average youth-to-caregiver ratio of 1 to 4. The residential program typically lasts 30-90 days and includes academic support, group therapy, recreational therapy, and expressive arts therapy. Adolescents can also enjoy taking part in animal-assisted therapy with a friendly canine on site and off-site horseback riding at a nearby stable.

Family Involvement

Family involvement is a crucial part of the curriculum. Parents take part in weekly family therapy sessions on Saturdays, which include opportunities for specialist support groups and enjoyable activities with their loved one.

Plenty of On-Site Actives

The Camino A Casa campus is situated on 25 acres in Camarillo, California. The campus has 7 residential units and 10 on-site classrooms. Adolescents can also enjoy a fitness center, a music room, a swimming pool, playing fields, and plenty of space for hiking. Notably, Casa a Camino is now accepting private insurance.
