The Center for Success and Independence (TCSI) in Texas offers long-term residential and intensive outpatient treatment for adolescents ages 12 to 17 who are navigating emotional, behavioral, academic, or substance use challenges. Specializing in dual diagnosis, TCSI is equipped to support teens dealing with both mental health issues and substance use disorders. With a minimum residential stay of 90 days, the center provides a safe, structured setting where young people receive individualized care and families are engaged throughout the recovery process.

Learn to Regulate and Heal

TCSI’s treatment approach is rooted in evidence-based and trauma-informed care. Therapies include dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), radically open DBT, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational enhancement therapy, and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR). Teens take part in individual, group, and family counseling, as well as chemical dependency support groups, social skills development, anger management classes, and peer-led 12-step meetings. The program also incorporates Trust-Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI) and the community reinforcement approach to help adolescents build emotional strength, healthy relationships, and lasting change.

Thrive in a Nurturing Space

Teens live in a therapeutic, supervised environment with round-the-clock clinical and psychiatric support. The program includes nursing care, medication management, and a fully accredited on-site school that supports academic progress and credit recovery. To further support long-term success, the recovery structure also includes family visits, regular therapy sessions, and home reintegration planning—helping teens return to their communities with renewed confidence, practical tools, and stronger family connections.

Review from Rehabs.com

After getting very positive recommendations from parents we know that have sent their child to TCSI we admitted our son for major depression and SUD. He went willingly as he wanted help to feel better and live a more healthy life. Within 2 days he called and asked to go somewhere else. He reported and I confirmed with admissions and a therapist that the vast majority of boys there are there by court order, have been admitted against their will, have no plans on maintaining sobriety or changing their lives after release. While our son wasnt mistreated while there he was never given a toothbrush for 6 days, said when they weren’t in school they basically slept in the day room on couches and the floor, he had 1 group session and didnt have a one on one until 4 days into placement. My advice is carefully chose the RTC and be sure to ask about the current clients in the program.
