TERRIBLE!!! This was my first experience with a rehab facility & it was horrible. Showed up at my check in time, no one was available to do my intake… Finally found someone and then they had to move people out of the room they wanted me in. They said they sprayed the room down, but luckily I had packed Lysol wipes and I had to clean the entire bathroom as there was toothpaste in the sink and a disgusting mess in the shower. I was fully checked in by 1:00 PM and by 8:30 PM no one has come in to establish my plan of care or treatment. I found out that I could not take the sleeping pills that I am used to taking so I checked myself out and left there around 9 PM. I found out from the staff that they lost their Director of nursing two months ago and since then many staff members have left. They are relying on contract staff, who do not have access to everything they need access to. Soooo unorganized. One of my roommates was a meth user and she was crying as I left, so worried that she would not receive the care she needed. This place was a total mess and I would not recommend it to anyone!!!

Go somewhere else! Staff is kind and caring but the facility is dirty and no programming whatsoever. Burnt and rotten food served and the poor chef gets cursed at daily. This facility needs to be reported for lying about services offered.

This is a beautiful facility. My son received the help that he needed. The staff aren't just there for a paycheck - they actually care about these people. His case manager went above and beyond. She included me in so much of what was going on, even though my son is an adult. His therapist worked with him and also had sessions that included me and his dad. The chef made him feel good about himself - she served 5 star meals and they knew it was made with love. Two staff members actually went to court on behalf of my son several times. I feel like these people and this place became an extension of my family. My son worked the program and when he discharged, he went to DPR Sober Living. It's not in the best part of town, but the people there cared about him and kept him accountable. He is working hard and knows he has a community that is there to support him. He attended an alumni get-together with DPR and had so much fun. When he initially went to the Sober Living facility he also had to attend IOP several days a week and I believe that helped him tremendously. I honestly don't have one bad to thing to say about this place - they saved my son's life and helped him create a life that he is proud to be living.

They Accomadated every need for My Son from Day he made his decision to seek help. He flew to Texas and was picked up at the airport by staff. I was allowed to see him the very next day, visitation were just about over but they let us have a visit anyways. Rooms are spacious and may not be a facility as someone stated but the House is Large, spacious, clean, and just has that home, secure, quiet, inviting feel. The are is perfect quiet and serene. Therapy and couseling on site my son loved everything about the way the had control of everything that was in his best interest. The staff, The Chef, The People i always knew how his progress was coming along and even included in therapy sessions. My son understand about addiction, the triggers, the control and the reason and maintains his sobriety, contact with others that were also in treatment with him, He considers all of them as family. Everyone there made him feel so comfortable, important and loved. At check out it took us all day for him to get everything together because he was truly going to miss Everything and Everyone, ( The Food) The outings, The Therapy, The couseling . The Owners, Management, The Staff I commend on The excellent job they are doing The are all Truly a Blessing. Strengths: Their knowledge in all areas of helping everyone. Knowing exactly what each persons individual needs are from The addiction ,the emotional, therapeutic, dietary. Weakness: Sober Living facility. I think my son was probably sent to the worst one. Was told he had to have a job within 2 weeks or going to be kicked out while another individual was there before him, still there and still unemployed. My son working 3rd shift going to sleep at 6 a.m. was woken up anyways for meditation at 7 even though he just worked at 12 hour shifts ( inconsiderate) people were eating his groceries. And managers of the house had dogs and dog hair everywhere and were offended that he mention about the dogs being all over furniture. Cardinal House of Dalls/Garland definitely Not recommended and was really in awe that Discovery Point Retreat would even be affiliated with a place like that. That would be the only negative on them with me.
