About Extra Mile Recovery
Extra Mile Recovery is located on 10 acres of wooded campus just off of the serene Old Natchez Trace Trail. Extra Mile Recovery is a gender-specific, long term treatment facility for men. Their program was designed to go the extra mile for men who are struggling with alcohol and drug addictions as well as co-occurring mental health disorders. Extra Mile Recovery combines 12-Step and evidence-based modalities. They have programs that can be 30, 60, or 90 days. Clients begin their journey with a thorough evaluation to determine their physical and psychological health. Extra Mile Recovery can facilitate detoxification on-site.
Extra Mile Recovery has individual and group therapy sessions that are required every week. Therapeutic approaches include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), and dual diagnosis. Medication management can be facilitated, and clients can expect to participate in nutritional guidance, mentorship, life skills training, psycho-education, and anger resolution therapy. Most of the staff have spent years in recovery, so they understand the struggles clients experience. Extra Mile Recovery involves their clients in the 12-Step programming to help them set goals, hold themselves accountable, and learn how to make their growth as sustainable as possible.
Extra Mile Recovery can accommodate 25 men at a time in either private or semi-private accommodations. They stay in either an apartment or a cabin, and the cabins have 2 bedrooms and one bathroom and are equipped with a stove, refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker. All linens are provided, and the living rooms have club chairs and a fireplace. The apartments are either 2 bedroom 1 bathroom or 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom, and the amenities are the same as the cabins. Extra Mile Recovery has a club house on the property where activities, fellowship, and 12-Step meetings occur.
