Review from Rehabs.com

By far hands down the best experience that I think I have had at a center before. I hate the fact that I have been to multiple rehabs and have so many failed rehab attempts, but at the same time I am happy to say that I have found something that works and I am proud to say that today I am clean and I owe it all to this center. They strive on multi modality approaches to treatment and for me that is key and honestly something that I never knew existed before. They have many different types of group therapy to offer you and what suits you and they tailor the program to fit you and your likes, dislikes and beliefs. If something is not working for you and or you can not relate to it then you can change your directive at any time and find what really works for you so that you are getting the most benefit from you program. I saw so many individuals here raving about how happy they were about their program and that they felt as though they were actually gaining from the program and not just sitting in a room full of people not understanding or gaining insight to their addiction. For so many people to be saying so many positive things about the program it made me feel even better about being here.

Review from Rehabs.com

I know it's different for everyone who has to go to rehab. I struggled a lot during my program though. It was really hard for me and I only was able to stick with it and actually do the program was because of the staff there. The help I received at GLR was amazing though. They were very throughout and made sure I did the program right. It's why I'm still clean today. They staff there are well trained and just as importantly, they are committed to helping people. There were a lot of times during my program when I wanted to give up and it's only because of the staff there that I didn't. They have different programs available so everyone does a program that benefits them. It's not a 30 day program or a 6 month program. You're there for however long you need to be whether that's one month or 9. They have yoga classes, art therapy and music therapy which helped me a lot during my program. While all of the staff there are well trained and dedicated they could use more staff.

Review from Rehabs.com

I went to Great Lakes Rehabilitation 2 years ago. When I was there the facility was called Best Drug Rehab but everything there is the same. The only thing thats changed is the name. No matter what the facility is called, it still the best drug rehab center you could go to. Id gone to 8 different rehabs before going to BDR and not one of them was able to help me stay clean for more than 3 months. Before going to Great Lakes Rehab I had been using pain pills for 12 years. Now, Ive been clean for 2 years. There is such a big difference in how I felt when I completed my program here than any of the other rehabs Ive been to. The main thing is, that after completing this program I felt ready to live my life again, completely without drugs or alcohol. For the first time in 12 year I left a program feeling confident that I could stay sober. Usually going home after finishing a rehab was a study in willpower. I would stay home as much as I possibly could because each time I left my house I wasnt sure if Id be able to stop myself from getting the pills that I desperately wanted. Now, after finishing Great Lakes Rehab, I can go have lunch with my mom or go shopping with my friends and now that Ill be fine and wont be relapsing on the way home. Partly, the reason for the is the way the program is run there. Its not just one program that everyone does. They understand that each person is different and so each persons recovery is going to need to be different. So, they have different programs there and the staff worked really hard to make sure that the program I did was the one that would be beneficial to me. It was actually really nice being at Great Lakes Rehab. I felt important there and not just some person that they were obligated to help. Another thing is that generally everyones happy to be there. It might not seem like such a big deal but when youre in a place with a bunch of people who are depressed about being there and apathetic about their recovery, that attitude tends to rub off. Everyone at GLR are generally upbeat and it was actually a great experience for me, going to groups where everyone in them is happy to be there and ready to work hard on their recovery. My program went better and I got more out of it because of that. I found at GLR that I actually enjoy being sober and that when Im happy its easier for me to stay that way. While there, every single part of my life that was adversely affected because of my addiction was addressed and either dealt with or a plan was put in place to deal with it when I got home. Things like the lack of trust my family and friends had with me. When I got home I worked hard to show them that they could trust me again. Now that Ive been clean for 2 years, they trust me to do the right thing and stay sober even if the opportunity to use presents itself. Ive come a really long way in the last 2 years and I wouldnt be where I am today if I hadnt gone to Great Lakes Rehabilitation. The staff there are extremely dedicated to helping others, the multiple programs available there make it so you aren't doing some program you've done before and hated, you get the help you need and you can take your time doing it. Not enough staff there. The staff they have are really dedicated but they could do with more of them.

The program at Great Lakes Rehabilitation is great. The staff are amazing people who will do everything in their power to help you get and stay sober. The place is amazing. The staff there are extremely helpful and always willing to go out of their way to make things easier for the clients. There's always something to do and the staff work to make sure that the free-time the clients have are spent doing something fun. It's a program that takes as soon as you need it to and they never try to hurry you along on your program. You do the work you need to, in the time you need and things are much better because of it. They staff they have there are very dedicated. They could use some more though.
