Since 1889, the West Loop Campus has served as Mercy Home’s headquarters, providing a safe and stable environment for young men ages 11-24 in Chicago. This urban boys-only campus is located along W Jackson Boulevard and provides a secure and stable living environment for youth facing adversity like abuse or neglect. Basic needs, including shelter, food, and a warm bed, are provided. Residents engage with the community, working in nearby businesses and participating in local projects.

Therapeutic Support and Facilities

The campus provides comprehensive therapeutic support through individual and group therapy, helping young men process their pasts and develop healthy coping mechanisms. Physical activities are supported by their gym, an outdoor basketball court, and a fitness center with a boxing ring, historically used by figures like Muhammad Ali. Academically, the learning center provides tutoring and resources. Life skills are taught in shared kitchenettes, and a campus garden allows residents to grow vegetables, fostering sustainability.

Family-Like Environment

Each residential home on campus is designed to create a nurturing, family-like atmosphere where boys can feel safe and supported. Shared living areas encourage connection, while kitchenettes provide space to learn essential life skills like meal preparation. The Learning Center offers a quiet, well-equipped space for academic support, helping residents stay on track with school. To promote physical health and discipline, youth have access to a full gym, outdoor basketball court, and a historic boxing ring.
