DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME, EFFORTS, and MONEY…ETC. FALSE POSITIVE DRUG TESTS. I chose to go to Mountain Manor Treatment Center in Westminster, MD for extra care as I am a (since 11/27/2020) new to sobriety as a recovering alcoholic with no history of any major or regular drug use. This is a treatment center that my health insurance covered. I was not court ordered, I have no record, I am a working professional, a good citizen, a good family member and friend with no enemies…no one was forcing me to go here. Had I known this would have been the most unprofessional experience I would have ever had deal with I never would have chosen to be in any sort of care under this company. I was under care of Mountain Manor outpatient program January 2021 through April 2021. Dealing with this rehab was like pulling teeth. It caused me more emotional stress, anger and confusion then I ever could have imagined a “treatment” program could have. There are many factors on why I am writing such a complaint/review. Such as, setting me up late to receive medication on time, counselors canceling scheduled sessions multiple times with no heads up just to plan your day around it and attend a nonexistent appointment, very poorly planned “group sessions”…etc. As all of that was very annoying…the biggest reason I am writing this is because of FALSE DRUG TESTS. During my treatment they said I failed a urine analysis twice. One was for something that I had never heard of and can’t remember exactly – something that would come up if I were to be a heroin/Suboxone user. I think “Buprenorphine” maybe? The second one was for Morphine and Codeine. Like I said previously, I was not a user of anything other than alcohol and I am still clean/sober like I was during this program. The only medication I was/am on that would show in a UA is Lexapro (depression and anxiety medication). The first failed UA took me by shock of course once they told me right after I gave it right then and there. They used the same urine and poured it into a new cup which ended up showing I passed and was clean. Obviously, this irritated me but all that mattered was that it was a mistake and I could go on with my treatment. I finished my sessions and what was asked of me to complete the program. On April 28th I was told I completed them, everyone wished me well and I was told I just needed to set up my final appointment by my counselor. When I made this call on 5/3 to set a time to come in I was asked by my counselor if I knew why I would have come up positive for Morphine and Codeine. Now, why would they wait an entire week to tell me this????? Makes no sense. Obviously my answer was no. Right away I called my pharmacist and did research online to try and understand how this would be possible. I came up with no answers. At this point I was more than frustrated since this could be my second false positive UA preventing me from completing this program successfully. I know I could just say whatever it doesn’t affect me anyways since I am not required to complete the program but I just couldn’t settle as this was and is totally unfair. I emailed my counselor Janet Seeley and let her know the positive UA had to have been a mistake. I got an email back saying “I think you need to call me so we can talk about the UA +”. I did not call because I was so tired and annoyed by the interaction with this program. On May 21 I received an email from Brianne Pate saying “I noticed that you have not been in group since 4/28/21. Will you be continuing treatment with us? If not, I can give you a referral for further treatment and discharge your file”. I emailed back saying “I was told that was my last night...everyone said bye to me and everything. I completed my sessions and the program I thought.” She rudely replied “Did you receive an IOP certificate? That is not correct because you had a positive for Opiates on 4/27/21 that I was informed Janet spoke to you about. So that would not be a successful completion. Would you like to continue with IOP?” The only option I was given was to completely redo the entire treatment/program. I will not be wasting my time again. I can’t imagine if this has or were to happen to someone whose future depended on it. Please do your research and find a more trusted and helpful facility to manage your care. As a side note: I would like to give credit to Doctor Holt. He was always on time, knowledgeable, kind and professional.

They really cared about people. The owner was once an addict, who taught us from what he knew and learned. They didn't pair us with people of our type. As far as the mentally challenged with everyone else. If you really want treatment it's out there. You have to actively look for what works for you. I'm so happy I got treatment, without it I don't know where I'd be.

Caring staff and great food. Weaknesses: none I can think of without another facility experience to compare with. Got me cleaned up with hope for the future.
