Northwest Children’s Home provides residential treatment for youth ages 7–17 with mental health and behavioral challenges, including those with trauma histories or involved in child-welfare systems. Their programs include Qualified Residential Treatment Programs (QRTPs) for moderate-acuity needs and a Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF) for youth requiring more intensive care, serving children and teens from Idaho and other states, especially Washington.

Strengthen Well-Being Through Structured, Trauma-Informed Care

Clinicians use individual, group, and family therapy to help youth build emotional skills, stability, and healthier relationships. Treatment includes trauma-informed practices and Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI®), giving residents consistent guidance and support. Psychiatric services and medication management are available in the PRTF, ensuring care that meets each child’s mental health needs in a safe and structured setting.

Live in a Supportive, Campus-Based Environment

Residents live in group homes on a 22-acre campus with shared bedrooms, common living spaces, and staff support. The property features outdoor recreation areas, a swimming pool, sports fields, and activity buildings that encourage movement and social connection. Youth access on-campus meals and structured daily routines, with placement and travel arrangements coordinated through referring agencies.
