About Urban Model
Urban Model is a housing-support program within Recovery Network of Programs designed for individuals experiencing homelessness who are living with both psychiatric disorders and substance use disorders. The program functions as part of RNP’s continuum of care and focuses on helping participants stabilize, develop essential life skills, and move toward greater independence. Its structure is built to serve people with complex needs who require more than short-term shelter.
Housing Services To Support Recovery
The program provides transitional housing and supportive housing. Transitional housing is offered in partnership with a local shelter, where individuals begin their engagement with the program. Supportive housing consists of off-site apartments where participants may stay for an extended period while receiving ongoing support. Regardless of the housing track, participants receive case management, illness management support, relapse prevention guidance, and structured life skills development. For those entering through the shelter, the program includes a substance use assessment and treatment component grounded in motivational enhancement therapy.
Long Term Care
Urban Model is designed for individuals facing multiple overlapping challenges and emphasizes long-term stabilization rather than short-term solutions. The program combines housing with integrated behavioral health and recovery support to help participants build the foundation needed for sustained wellness. Its approach reflects RNP’s broader philosophy of addressing mental health, substance use, and social needs together so that participants can progress toward stable, independent living.
