River Oaks helps clients find sobriety and peace at their quality rehab center on 24 beautifully landscaped acres near Tampa. They offer residential and outpatient treatment, including a dedicated mental health inpatient program and groups for veterans and LGBTQ+ clients struggling with addiction.

Experience a Well-Rounded Recovery

River Oaks uses an integrated approach to treat both addiction and co-occurring mental health conditions. They offer individual and group therapy to help clients change negative thought patterns, resolve any hesitation about getting sober, and restore relationships with family members. When necessary, medical detox and medication-assisted treatment (MAT) support withdrawal and stabilization. Group activities and skill-building exercises, expressive arts and music therapy, and 12-Step meetings round out treatment options.

Rest, Eat, & Play Well

River Oaks offers hotel-style accommodations combined with life-changing experiences. Clients stay in semi-private rooms (private rooms are an option) equipped with ensuite bathrooms and full beds with pillowtop mattresses. An in-house chef provides home-cooked meals, and can meet special dietary needs. Clients enjoy indoor and outdoor recreational facilities, outings to wildlife preserves, and evening activities like movies, art, and games. For added comfort, clients’ support animals are welcome.

Prepare for Success Post-Treatment

Just as with the initial rehab treatment plan, River Oaks staff create a specialized aftercare program to meet each client’s specific needs. Prior to discharge, the team will work alongside the client to set up the necessary support to continue to reach sobriety goals, including setting up supportive housing, counseling, family therapy, and group meetings. The treatment team may also recommend continued care in River Oaks’s outpatient programs.

Review from Rehabs.com

I loved it here. Initially coming in I slept the first three days because I was exhausted and in such a foggy state. The room was really nice and the bed was extremely comfortable. I immediately realized that this was a safe place for me to come and get better. I felt like I had the support of the staff. The nurses were right there on the same floor and if I needed something I could go right to them. I had a very good interaction with all staff and felt like my needs were being met. I got back on my meds for my bi-polar which helped me get on track. I can see the difference now that I've been back on my medication and I can see how important they are for my recovery. I also liked the schedule because I needed the routine to help heal me, that was important. Even when I didn't feel like getting up, I pushed through it and attended my groups which was a huge benefit to me. The staff gave me gentle nudges in the right direction and we all worked together. I knew I needed help so I accepted it and got the help that I asked for and needed. I loved the TA's Rachel and Cecil. I had a good interaction with Tripp and Mattie, they really stood out. Angie in the cafeteria was so sweet, she was always helpful. I love the fountains here, the trickling of the water is so calming. The grounds over all were very peaceful with a nature path which was really cool. I loved doing art class and movie night. I watched everyone play volleyball in the sun and it was really great fun. I learned how to have fun in a sober atmosphere and that its possible to have fun in recovery. I am not the same person as when I came in, I'm a different person and I learned how to rediscover what I liked about myself. I was miserable and I finally have that weight lifted off of me and I feel happy in my own skin today. I'm still learning and have a long way to go but I have hope that I didn't have any hope before I came here.
