Trauma
A broken man, a man who forgot who he was, the feeling of being burnt out, hitting rock bottom. I was using cocaine to 'cope' with life. I had a choice to make, continue on this self-destruct path and die or be the man that I had forgotten I could be and give myself a real 2nd chance at a happy life. Asking for help is OK, it does not make you weak. Admitting you have a problem and need help takes real courage. It is OK to be NOT OK but we ultimately control our actions and decisions. If I can inspire just the one person reading this - reach out to Shahir - you have your life to gain and nothing to lose. From the moment I messaged Shahir, to arriving at Savasana, I felt welcomed and understood. The staff are incredibly professional and genuinely care about each person’s journey. I felt at peace. An amazing place that is supportive of recovery / rediscovering who you are. PT sessions, sauna, daily nutritious home-cooked food, I could go on. They take away all stress so you can work on yourself. The therapy sessions were the highlight of my treatment. The individual counselling was personalised and really helped me address underlying issues that contributed to my addiction. One of the things I appreciated most was the aftercare planning. The follow-up calls and check-ins from Shahir have been a great support. I will forever be grateful. If you are struggling, you are not alone.

I recently had the opportunity to experience Savasana Private and it was a truly enriching experience. What I appreciated most was how the coaches took their time to understand my needs, making each session feel relatable and tailored just for me. I always felt that I was being heard and involved. The atmosphere of Savasana was very calming, with soft lighting and gentle music. The open space created a serene environment that helped me unwind completely. One downside was that there wasn’t enough one on one sessions with the dietitian and mind healing. One downside was that I felt there wasn’t enough one-on-one time with the dietitian, as well as with the mind healing sessions. I would have appreciated more personal guidance and tailored advice to better address meal plans and relaxation. Despite these minor issues, once I have settled in, it turned into a blissful escape. I left feeling refreshed and more connected to myself, which was exactly more than what I could ever hoped for.

My experience at Savasana was well composed with tailed classes and health professionals dealing with my MH. What I enjoyed the most was being able to trust, share and be myself without no judgement. It allowed me to see things in a different way, taught me prime and rewind (when big dog sleeps), dealing with the past, grounding and most of all my values, happiness and being able to be vulnerable. All in all savanna will always be with me in my journey and the wonderful people, I’ve grown fond of.
