Serenity Knolls provides residential treatment for addiction and co-occurring mental health conditions. Once a summer camp, their private campus spans 12.5 acres of land, surrounded by state park forests and rolling hills. This serene environment offers shared bedrooms, a range of outdoor activities, and family programs on the weekends. Their treatment program includes detox and residential care, with the option to extend the residential stay. Serenity Knolls notably offers a lifetime of aftercare following a 30-day stay at no additional cost.

Personalized, Compassionate Care

Serenity Knolls begins treatment with thorough assessments and health evaluations. These initial assessments identify any family history of addiction or mental health conditions, physical health, and the treatment services that fit each client’s needs. Clients detox under the 24/7 care of Serenity Knolls’ medical doctor, nurses, and clinical technicians if needed. Clients may take prescribed comfort medications for withdrawal symptoms. Serenity Knolls’ Foundation Program provides 30 days of residential care, with daily group therapies and at least one weekly individual therapy session with a licensed psychologist.

Evidence-Based, Intensive Treatment

Serenity Knolls offers a wide range of evidence-based therapies, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT), and equine therapy. These therapies are delivered in both group and individual formats. Clients meet daily with their counselor to review goals, monitor progress, and address challenges. Group therapy at Serenity Knolls includes process groups, psychoeducation groups, and gender-specific groups for men and women. Weekly family therapy is also available upon request.

Comprehensive, Continuous Care

Serenity Knolls treats several co-occurring mental health conditions, including depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, and trauma-related disorders. Their psychiatrist can prescribe medications as needed to support comprehensive treatment. After completing a 30-day stay at Serenity Knolls, clients and their families gain access to a lifetime of aftercare, which includes weekly meetings, weekend programs, annual events, sobriety milestone celebrations, and holiday gatherings.

Review from Rehabs.com

Before getting sober almost 10 years ago, I spent time in a few different rehabs and sober living houses over the period of about 5 years. Without question Serenity Knolls is by far and away the best rehab I've been to. The staff is both capable and caring. The food is incredible and the accommodations are cozy, clean and comfortable. Amazing place overall. I live in LA but if I lived up there I would be active in their alumni after care for life program. I couldn't say enough about this place...

The treatment was good & caring, but our son relapsed once he was out. He said their food was amazing & part of the reason he stayed. You can drag a horse to water, but without a desire to drink, it's not going to quench anybodys thirst.Setting in nature. Great food. They kept the family involved. It was expensive. Might have helped to have our son paying or have a partial work-to-stay to help pay for some of his rehab cost.

Great program for residents and their families. Focus is on recovery, education around alcoholism/addiction and breaking denial. A very nice and well maintained facility with amazing food. This is a mid price facility; it does not contract with any insurance companies but will work w/insurance for at least some reimbursement. Highly recommend...ALL staff (maintenance, chefs, counselors, admin and clinicians )are in recovery. Strong family program and aftercare program. Both family program and aftercare are lifetime benefits at no extra cost.

The care and concern from the counselors was phenomenal. though the price is expensive, the surroundings are beautiful and the food is gourmet! Counselors are the best around. caring, compassionate and all in recovery. The grounds are very inviting so a sense of calm begins quickly. The compassion of the counselors while I went through 2 weeks of withdrawal from opiates was astounding. Other clients assisted too. I had interaction with every single counselor-either in private session or group. They all are in recovery and they "get us" the food is also outstanding. You sign up for chores daily which really helps you to see how the place runs and also to get to know others quicker. I cannot say enough for SK. They offer a family program indefinitely as well as aftercare for the addict. I am a certified drug and alcohol counselor and if I could I would work there in an instant. I would just volunteer there as well but I live too far away. The owner ... himself runs groups as well as the aftercare. There is one in the city that he comes to sometimes. Otherwise the counselors run it so you continue to have contact with them.
