Stonewater Adolescent Recovery Center empowers the boys in their care to forge new futures and rebuild family bonds. They delve into the unique battles that teenage boys grapple with, including substance use, mental health and behavioral challenges. From medical detox and immersive residential treatment to on-site leadership development through the Stonewater Summit Program and strategic aftercare planning, they’re dedicated to healing the entire family unit. Stonewater’s philosophy goes beyond symptom management—it’s about developing healthy tools and restoring self-worth.

Rebuild Purpose and Restore Confidence

At Stonewater, treatment helps the boys rediscover who they are beneath anxiety and self-destructive patterns. Many teens carry not just substance use as an unhealthy coping mechanism, but feelings of shame and a loss of purpose. That’s why Stonewater’s approach is purpose-driven and self-worth restoring, using therapies that guide teens back to themselves. Through individual and group therapy, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), mindfulness, 12-step programs, leadership training, and adventure therapies, the boys start building lives they’re proud of.

Step away from Pressure, Focus on Healing

Set on a beautiful private property in the rolling hills of northern Mississippi, Stonewater is a peaceful, distraction-free setting where adolescent boys can step away from daily pressures and focus on what really matters: getting better. They spend their days in a mix of therapy, fitness, and outdoor activities that get them moving and thinking in new ways. Whether they’re hiking a trail, talking through tough emotions, or learning how to tap into their entrepreneurial gifts, the boys can start to see that change is possible.

Map Out Next Steps after Treatment

At Stonewater, aftercare planning begins well before the boys complete the program, with recovery support plans tailored to each family’s unique goals. They work closely with each teen to create personalized home contracts that set clear expectations and healthy boundaries for the return home. After discharge, the boys can expect phone call check-ins and access to their supportive and fun Alumni app.

Stonewater is exceptional!! My son received the best care and felt loved by all the staff. They all treated him like family. His therapist Molly was amazing and did an excellent job with Chris and our family. His nurse Sandy was wonderful and was with him through all his doctors appointments. His academic advisor Daniel did a great job keeping Chris on track. The weekly communication was great. Stonewater changed my sons life in the most positive way. When he graduated there were so many tears of joy plus the fact that we will all miss our Stonewater Family. It was a blessing to find Stonewater and I thank them for helping my family and caring so much. My son would not be where he is today without Stonewater!! Thank you so much❤️❤️

Review from Rehabs.com

My son was at stonewater for 60 days. He had a therapist named Heather who lied and was inconsistent. It was extremely frustrating waiting 3 hours for a phone call from my son and having to call the sheriffs office to do a well check. The deputy did check on him and let me know he was ok. Once heather told me he couldnt call because bible study ran over but the deputy told me that it was because a young man ran away. Another week i waited 4 hours, checking my cell, only to be told by my son after 10 pm that he missed his call cause he took food. I am a registered/licensed dietitian and the meal sizes and snacks were not enough; especially when medication is involved that increases appetite. Bedtime snack should be a carbohydrate and protein to provide enough fuel for morning. But they refused to listen to me and refused to show me the meal and snack portion sizes. They said they have a nutritionist on staff but refused to let me speak with her. Academic advisor daniel farmer is excellent. Nurse Sandy is excellent. Jeff Fikes is excellent. Stonewater yo not follow through on promises made for outings. My son only left campus twice in 60 days for fun outings. Most weekend he cleaned "the mansion" as he called it. Working hard during the week should allow one fun outing over the weekend as encouragement for those young men who are doing well. My sons therapist Heather was helpful for the first two weeks only. Supposedly she was not going to be working there any more after may 14 2021. But please, if you have issues with a therapist, ask to be switched to another. There definitely was something off about heather, and she was passive aggressive often. Overall my son has been doing well since he graduated on May 6th. There are tough days but stonewater did give him tools that he needed. He goes to 10 hours of an intensive outpatient program 5 days a week. I wish brian fikes participated more with the young men at Stonewater; gven that he is the reason that the family started Stonewater. I think more wisdom shared by him (from his addiction/recovery journey) could have helped those in recovery at Stonewater. Brian appears to be the face for Stonewater but my son only interacted with him about 5 times in 60 days. Elizabeth Fikes was helpful but she didnt fully listen at times, specifically with issues about ryans therapist. She gets your kiddo in the door and then leaves everything up to the on campus staff. Please remain vigilant with your son if you choose Stonewater in getting answers and going to visit. Recovery is very very difficult for our sons and our families, as we all know. Being as involved as you can while your son is at Stonewater will help you have peace of mind. Even if that means calling the oxford sheriffs office to do a well check. God Bless.

Review from Rehabs.com

If I could give this facility a zero-star rating I would. They are not trained or skilled in dealing with an adolescent that is defiant and detoxing. They are quick to tell you whatever you want to hear to get your child there and get your money. Once your child is there it is extremely hard to reach anyone to discuss anything about your child. For a facility that has people’s children especially for me because I live states away, you would think that a line of communication would be available. The information I received was minimal. My son was there for five days and they discharged him and sent me a bill for $6000. The minimal communication they did provide completely ceased once they discharged him even though he was still in their facility. They told me that I needed to come to get him asap, but they were not answering my calls, text, or emails. They did not allow me to talk to him and they did not tell me where he would be while he was waiting for me to pick him up. I live multiple states away and arranging transport took some time. It does not appear that the people that run this place have any idea what it is like to leave their child with strangers. My son received absolutely no services, they kicked him out and stuck me with a $6000 bill. Don’t waste your time or money sending your child here, this place is a joke.

Stonewater was a life changing experience for my son. He went from being an angry and frustrated boy that wanted to leave as soon as possible to wanting to go to an after care program to ensure that he stays sober. The staff was very caring and respectful. God truly works miracles at Stonewater.
