The Cedars Cape Manor House
About The Cedars Cape Manor House
The Cedars Cape Manor House is a boutique facility with detox and residential programmes in which every client receives the individual help they need for chemical and behavioural addictions. With over two decades of experience, their comprehensive approach to addiction treatment combines evidence-based therapies with holistic care to address the underlying causes of addiction and promote lasting recovery. Surrounded by the natural beauty of Cape Town, their centre offers a tranquil setting that fosters self-reflection and renewal. Their multi-disciplinary specialists, group activities, and tranquil facility give clients the time, space and resources needed to break free from the constraints of addiction.
Evidence-Based and 12-Step Programming
In line with best-practice addiction treatment, The Cedars Cape Manor House delivers a multi-disciplinary approach that includes 1-on-1 counseling, group therapy, medication-assisted treatment (MAT), cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), and trauma-informed care. Treatment length can be tailored to each client’s requirements, though three 28-day phases are recommended to rediscover their strengths and build the resilience needed for a brighter, addiction-free future. Their 28-day treatment plan is enough time for a comprehensive introduction to the life-changing Cedars programme. A client will see the doctor for a physical examination, have stabilisation medication administered if required, and when physically able, start their journey with group therapy, educational groups, one-on-one counselling, and sessions with the psychologist and social worker. They will also start the 12-Step program and learn more about 12-Step fellowships. Work begins on the behavioural issues that accompany substance abuse and process addictions. The 90-day program allows the client to complete the 12-Step program in full, and also the time to work at addressing persisting behavioural issues. During the 90-day program, clients are also afforded the opportunity to work towards a position of responsibility within the therapeutic community.
Expert Care During & After Rehab
The Cedars Cape Manor House is staffed by a leading team including licensed therapists, medical professionals, and addiction specialists, all working together to provide comprehensive care. Many of their staff members have been through the programme, modelling the power of its impact and offering clients unprecedented empathy and “proof of concept.” Their team walks beside each client every step of the way, encouraging them to dig deep and persevere. The recovery community continues journeying together with in-person follow-up sessions and on-site support meetings.
Private Serenity for Recovery
The Cedars Cape Manor House offers clients a sanctuary of calm and escape. The facility can accommodate a maximum of 20 individuals and offers well-appointed rooms, tranquil gardens and a host of on-site features to ensure the absolute comfort and wellbeing of its clients. They have an on-site gym and swimming pool. Clients can take part in guided meditation sessions and personal training three times a week, as well as weekly yoga. All training is tailored according to the client’s fitness and physical ability. Their dietician-approved menu will restore energy balance and help clients feel whole again; halal or vegetarian diets are catered for by request. In the stunning Western Cape Province, opportunities for sober outings abound. The Cedars Cape Manor House offers seaside bicycle rides and hikes in nearby Newlands and Tokai forests or the rocky trails up the famous Lion’s Head.
Insurance
The Cedars Cape Manor House works with South African Medical Aid to cover the cost of addiction and substance abuse treatment. If a client does not have South African insurance coverage, The Cedars can help explore other options. They believe that in the end, addiction always costs more than treatment.
