Set in eastern Louisiana, Maples provides care for teenage girls 13-18 who are struggling with mental health disorders, substance use disorders, or eating disorders. If a residential level of care is recommended by a medical or mental-health professional, The Maples offers free screenings to help determine treatment plans for prospective patients. The center provides a structured, nurturing setting in which patients can heal and ultimately thrive. The Maples requires family involvement in treatment, therapy sessions, and aftercare plans to help ensure transparency.

Empowering, Evidence-Based Therapies

The Maples uses an array of evidence-supported therapies to treat patients in their recommended 60-day program. Motivational interviewing (MI), cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and SMART Recovery are several of the research-backed interventions used in the recovery process. The center holds that using these therapies can unlock personal motivation for change and empower patients to develop a more positive lifestyle. Several innovative therapies are used in conjunction, such as yoga, equine therapy, art therapy, music therapy, and mindfulness training.

Structured and Nurturing Environment

In addition to the daily medical and psychiatric care patients receive, the center prioritizes time within patients’ days to complete schoolwork online. The Maples has on-site tutors to help with school and homework assignments. During down time, the girls are encouraged to develop friendships, apply their creativity through art or music and engage in outdoor physical activities. The staff at The Maples believes it is possible for their patients to leave with greater self-esteem and emotional regulation than when they arrived.
