About The Ohio Mental Health Center - The Trails
The Ohio Mental Health Center at The Trails offers specialized programs for anxiety, bipolar, depression, trauma, and other conditions, ensuring clients have a full grasp on their mental health when they leave care. Unlike a traditional psychiatric hospital offering crisis-focused, short stays in a hospital-like environment, The Trails applies a long-term, person-centered treatment model with stays of at least 30 days in a setting that looks and feels like home.
Build a Toolset for Lasting Life Change
The Trails works with clients to address all physical, psychological, and social components of chronic conditions to foster true healing and break the cycle of relapse. Their team of doctors and clinicians begins by performing social, psychological, and physical assessments to develop a treatment plan unique to each client’s situation. They combine medications, psychotherapy, life-skills training, and holistic therapies to build upon the client’s strengths and help them learn new coping skills to overcome their challenges. Case management and a custom aftercare plan also prepare clients for success when they return to “everyday life.”
Unwind in a Place That Feels Like Home
Set on over 20 acres about 40 miles east of Columbus, The Trails serves up to 18 clients at a time in a former estate thoughtfully retrofitted for comfort. Clients enjoy private or shared rooms with cozy beds, luxury bathrooms, a modern kitchen, and meals that are either catered or cooked onsite. Relaxing spaces like a covered porch and deck overlooking a pond, plus fitness equipment and hiking trails, enhance the retreat-like setting. Free transportation makes admission easy and stress-free. Visitation is offered every Sunday.
