I attended Walker Center over 10 years ago and it was such a magical program I actually went to college to be a drug and alcohol counselor however my addiction got back away with me 5 years after I had went so I came back hoping for the same magical experience however this time it has changed a great deal it took me months to get in and then once I got in we didn't really do nothing on programming we never did anything outside they just have us walk around the track a lot of the nurses had favorites and they treat you bad I had a roommate that didn't like me they threw me out for a pill on my bathroom floor that I was prescribed that they allowed in with my makeup bag which I don't know how it got there I am still seeking for help I really need it I tried to check into their outpatient program when I got back to Twin Falls Idaho and they also would not help me so I don't recommend the Walker Center to anyone who seriously needs help unless you have self pay.I begged to stay, they still shoved me out the door. Thanks walker center team. To bad only one of you got to meet me, you didn't even know me yet made a decision that is affecting my life in a way know one could ever understand.

Review from Rehabs.com

It's too soon to rate the treatment effectiveness for our young adult son, but we are grateful for this program and very happy with what we've seen so far. The counselors we met were caring and professional. The 3-day family session was very beneficial and we almost missed it. Our son's counselor who called to tell my husband about family week, did not give any detailed information or express how valuable or important it would be. Had it not been for our daughter strongly urging both of us to go, my husband would've missed it--and that would've been unfortunate. Even though I felt that our son's counselor could've been more assertive in his communication with us, our son liked his "laid back" approach as a counselor. The meals are Standard American Diet, but thankfully, they include a well-stocked salad bar. This program is based on the 12-steps, but only step 1 is required to complete the program. The required AA meetings may not be the best fit for everyone, but the overall program seems like it would be beneficial for anyone.

Review from Rehabs.com

My son has severe mental health and addiction issues got scared and left wanted to come back within a few hours and was denied. For a place that deals with mental health issues this was sad. Especially with a price tag of $32,000. So- it is more about the money than the patient - F- in my book. Not such a caring facility.

Almost two years sober. Very grateful. Walker gave me the tools for recovery. Don’t go if not committed to the process. Not perfect. But I’m not either. I recommend the place without reservation. Meetings alone or outpatient care likely would not have been successful for me.
