With custom-fit treatment plans and advanced therapies rarely found elsewhere, Windmill Wellness Ranch specializes in substance use, mental health, and trauma by healing the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. They offer inpatient, outpatient, and detox services that dig beneath the addiction to treat the real issues contributing to it, like trauma, depression, and anxiety. When necessary, they go beyond typical 30-day program structures to get every patient the help they truly need to become well.

Follow a Fine-Tuned Path to Recovery

At Windmill, each day balances clinical care with time to reflect and connect. Mornings include therapist-led group sessions and psychoeducation on trauma, relationships, and recovery. Clients meet three times weekly with their therapist and recovery coach, and treatment is adjusted using real-time progress data. Afternoons include SMART or AA groups. Evenings offer free time and peer fellowship. Friday outings, Saturday family workshops, and Sunday family visits deepen connection and support healing.

Recharge on an Upscale Ranch

Located on a 75-acre ranch in Texas Hill Country, Windmill offers upscale amenities and a break from digital distractions. The property features courts for basketball, volleyball, tennis, and pickleball; an outdoor pool; hiking trails; and an on-site gym with a personal trainer. Clients enjoy gender-specific housing with high-quality beds, along with chef-prepared meals, a salon, and massage therapy. Dogs are welcome for those who benefit from having their pet in residential treatment.

Maintain Recovery with Lifetime Aftercare

WWR clients receive lifetime access to aftercare, helping them prevent relapse and build lives of connection and purpose. Once ready for discharge from residential treatment, the client’s therapist creates a solid aftercare plan to support ongoing recovery. They assist with housing, employment, psychiatry, and therapy as needed. Recovery coaches and alumni coordinators provide routine check-ins, and clients stay connected through weekly on-site support meetings and a strong alumni community.

Use Innovative Techniques for Brain & Body
Windmill uses scientifically advanced techniques to calm the brain, regulate the body, and support lasting recovery. Brain Frequency™ resets neural pathways for sobriety. 9D Breathwork blends sound, rhythm, and hypnosis to ease trauma and quiet racing thoughts. The wearable BioWatch tracks real-time vitals and mood, helping clients and staff respond early to signs of distress.
Break the Cycle of Chronic Relapse
Break the Cycle of Chronic Relapse
Windmill supports clients with a history of chronic relapse. Instead of relying only on a 12-Step model, their team uncovers and treats the real reasons behind repeated use. Masters-level clinicians use trauma-focused therapies like eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), while peer support specialists work alongside clients to break old cycles and build lasting recovery.
Connect Weekly with Other Families
Connect Weekly with Other Families
Windmill helps families heal alongside their loved ones through in-person and Zoom programming led by trained facilitators with expertise in addiction and family recovery. Workshops every Saturday explore topics like healthy boundaries, guilt, fear, and post-treatment planning. On Sundays, SMART Family & Friends meetings offer a non-12-step support group for those impacted by a loved one’s addiction.

Review from Rehabs.com

I was treated like a human here and I’m so grateful for my stay. I tried many other treatment centers in Texas, but none of them came close to my experience at WWR. The staff is phenomenal, and many of them are in recovery as well so I was understood on a personal level. The food was great, the groups were very educational, the amenities (gym, pool, trails, all the way down to the bed I slept in) are top class, and the therapy (which is definitely individualized) was life changing. WWR gave me the tools that I needed to succeed outside of the treatment center. I went in there hopeless and ready to die, but left with purpose and inner peace. WWR is incredible!!!

My over all experience at Windmill Wellness Ranch was amazing. The staff and counselors went out of there way to treat not only addiction, but depression, anxiety, trauma and grief. I have over 2 years sober since going to Windmill and highly recommend it. It is phenomenal.

Review from Rehabs.com

I loved this facility with the exception of my counselor. He led my process group 3 days out of the week. He talks too much & he doesnt seem to fully understand substance abuse/addiction. I didnt agree with a majority of the things he chose to discuss during groups or his process groups. He was unorganized & would ask me the same questions over & over. He waited until the last minute to complete my discharge paperwork & even forgot to get my signature. I was flying out that morning. Hes a nice guy and means well, but I wish I had requested a different counselor earlier on at my stay there. The other counselors and staff are phenomenal. The ranch is set on beautiful land. Accommodations were great as well. PrTMS was very beneficial for me, although it is extremely expensive. Overall it was a great atmosphere and Im very grateful I got the opportunity to go there. Great treatment opportunities. Great staff available for working the steps. Cleaning crew & meals provided. Allow clients to use phones every day. My specific counselor. Ranch is located so far out that it was strenuous going to outside meetings in San Antonio. Also they seem to be very understaffed as well.

Review from Rehabs.com

I am so grateful for WWR. I have been to many treatment centers in the last 10 years and I was a client at WWR two times the second when I was 3 months pregnant. Going to treatment is always scary but the staff and owner showed me soooo much compassion, love, comfort and every act of kindness you could imagine. I recommend this place to all who are seeking help. Not only is the facility nurturing and peaceful but the people there still hold such a huge place in my heart! I could go on and on. There is a woman who works in the front that has played such a huge part in my life and has loved on me so much. I honestly dont know who or where I would be if it wasnt and the others. I am eternally grateful and if my husband was allowed to live there with me I honestly would of never left!! Thank you windmill I am alive!!!The facility is amazing!!!! Very healing, peaceful and spiritual. Beautiful redone and everything is extremely nice and the beds were like heaven:) I think the men and women should be more separate.

We love hearing about your treatment experience
