For various reasons, young adults can become completely stuck in their lives. If other treatments or support have had little to no effect, Yes We Can Youth Clinics seeks to be the turning point. Every year, they treat more than 1.000 young people in their national and international clinics, from 13 to 25 years, with mental health issues, addictions and behavioural problems. The treatment programme consists of a 10-week residential treatment programme followed by a 10-week digital aftercare programme. Since the start in 2011, unconditional warmth, safety and confrontation at the right time are pivotal. Together with other young people (called “fellows”) from all around the world, they will learn to recognise and acknowledge their problems, ask for help and speak out. In parallel with the child’s treatment, parents/carers will participate in an intensive family coaching and counselling programme. During the treatment, over 500 highly specialised healthcare professionals work hard to help the fellows and their families turn hopelessness into happiness.

Safe atmosphere where unconditional warmth and creating recognition are pivotal

At Yes We Can Youth Clinics, unconditional warmth, safety, and confrontation at the right time are pivotal. Many young people at the clinic face the same problems, such as depression, trauma, and substance use. Problems that many of their colleagues have overcome themselves. This creates a lot of recognition between fellows and employees. The group dynamics create the will and the strength for the fellows to really change.

Specialised healthcare professionals who are present 24/7

Yes We Can Youth Clinics works with multidisciplinary teams to make sure fellows are never alone in the clinic. Psychiatrists and registered clinical psychologists collaborate with expert-by-experience counsellors, youth coaches, a medical staff, psychologists, family therapists, youth/educational workers, socio-psychiatric nurses, educationalists, systemic therapists, nurses and youth coaches to support and supervise the treatment process. A personal case manager and therapist will guide the fellows and their families through the process from start to finish. In total, more than 500 professionals work for and with the fellows, and the youth coaches are present 24/7.

All-English intensive residential treatment programme

Yes We Can Youth Clinics offers an intensive 24/7 residential treatment programme of 10 weeks, followed by a 10-week aftercare programme, that teenagers and adolescents participate in together with other fellows. They learn to recognise together that they have problems, ask for help, and tackle them. There is also an intensive family programme for parents and carers. The treatment of Yes We Can Youth Clinics is successful for many of the fellows they treat. 74% of their fellows no longer need specialist care after Yes We Can.

Expat Child Syndrome
Expat Child Syndrome
Yes We Can Youth Clinics offers a range of resources and support services specifically tailored to the emotional and psychological challenges faced by expat children. They often struggle with adapting to new cultures, forming social relationships, and maintaining their self-worth. These challenges can lead to mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, and substance abuse. Yes We Can Youth Clinics’ specialised treatment programmes are designed to help young adults develop the skills they need to cope with the challenges of living in a foreign country.
Intensive Family Programme
Intensive Family Programme
Yes We Can Youth Clinics knows that the challenges faced by young people also deeply affect their parents. Their treatment is not only about supporting the fellow’s path to recovery, but also about renewing and empowering parents in the intensive family coaching and counselling programme. An initial period of time apart creates the space needed for the fellow to focus on the treatment, after which the family participates in Bonding Week. During those four days, the family engages with a licensed family counsellor for a deep dive into critical topics such as co-dependency, managing potential relapse, and cultivating a healthy, sustainable lifestyle for the entire family. During this special week, the fellow and their family truly connect with each other.
Aftercare
Aftercare
After a high-intensity treatment at Yes We Can Youth Clinics, ongoing aftercare is used to help maintain a healthy recovery. The fellows and their families may have changed, but their social environment has stayed the same. Going back home can therefore be very confronting, causing old behaviours and familiar habits to recur. For that reason, it is essential to receive a high level of support during this period. The Yes We Can Youth Clinics’ 10-week aftercare programme supports fellows in applying the tools learned at the clinic to everyday life.
Healthy Food, Sport & Outdoor Activities
Healthy Food, Sport & Outdoor Activities
Healthy food is essential for a good recovery and plays an important role at Yes We Can Youth Clinics. All meals consist of as many organic products as possible, less sugar and salt, and lots of fresh fruit and vegetables, created together with various experts. This way all colleagues and fellows are provided with healthy, nutritious meals every day, homemade from their own kitchen. During daily sport and outdoor activities, fellows learn to set boundaries, have more discipline and team building. These activities not only give them more self-confidence, but also contribute to strong friendships and recovery. From doing a high rope course to crossfit, the daily treatment programme consists of a minimum of 3 hours per day of challenging, various sport and outdoor activities.Facilities are on the grounds, such as a crossfit, dojo, multicourt and walking trail that stretches for kilometres.

Loved One of a Former Client

My daughter went to Yes We Can Youth Clinics because of mental health issues caused by trauma. From our first contact with the clinic, we felt that this place differed from all the other places we experienced. It is hard to pinpoint, but I think sincere interest in my daughter, wife, and myself best describes it. The intake team was able to connect with us quickly. I saw my daughter open up in a way I hadn't seen for years. It was hard to leave our daughter behind for ten weeks, especially the first five weeks, during which there was no contact at all. I think it confronted us with how entangled our lives had become in an unhealthy way.The parent programme was challenging and confrontational. Before the programme, I blamed my daughter most for all our family's problems. Some stern words fell, but eventually, Yes We Can was able to open up my eyes and show me what my role in the situation was. I was so glad to see my daughter after five weeks during bonding week. There were so many things that we had to talk about. This day has been a turning point in my life, for which I will be forever grateful.Fast forward to 2024. Our daughter is doing great. She just finished her media design study in London. She has had some rough periods after returning from the clinic, but she now has the tools to deal with them. And so did we. We have become closer as a family than we have ever been before. Highly recommended!

Wonderful, warm, loving clinic with a very effective and intensive program. I've seen a lot of therapists in my life, but none of them were able to really understand me and my problems. Astonishing surroundings and a beautiful castle with nice two-person rooms. They work with a lot of experts by experience and youth coaches. Especially the last group offered a shoulder to cry on when I found it difficult to partake.
